New Close Farm Shop

Our lamb is born and bred on the farm, from a number of different breeds to make sure that we have them ready throughout the year. They're overwhelmingly fed on grass, hay or silage, with occasional grain when the weather is at its worst. No routine drugs or antibiotics are used - and they're often at their happiest when outside, even in what we think is very bad weather.

Of course, we have to keep them for their meat or they wouldn't be here, so we think that its important that we do them justice. All our meat is prepared in our butchery and we're happy to produce the more unusual or traditional cuts if there is something that you would like to try!

We also supply lamb boxes for the freezer, either as half-lamb boxes or whole lambs. These typically include joints, chops, mince and diced lamb and occasionally burgers. Weights for a half-box are usually between 10 and 12 kilos, and whole lambs 20-24 kg and prices, depending on the season are around £60 and £110 respectively.

We are open...
